At present, along with the harsh winter, air pollution has also reached severe levels in Delhi. In the first three weeks of December, the minimum temperature remained about 1 degree below normal, which had a direct impact on the Air Quality Index (AQI) and it crossed 400. According to IMD data, this is one of the coldest periods of December in the last 15 years. Experts say that due to falling temperature, pollutant particles get trapped in the air, due to which smog increases and breathing becomes difficult.
