In Sawai Madhopur, 246 mm rains made the situation uncontrollable, while floods like Kota and Baran have become flood -like conditions. Record rain in Sawai Madhopur, city submerged

Flood-like situation in Kota-Baran
Many villages in Baran district have become islands due to heavy rains. Constant rains for 40 hours have completely broken the contact of roads. 40,000 cusecs of water was released from Kota Barrage, which caused water to the towns and houses. Things are also becoming uncontrollable in Kota division.
Rail-road traffic affected, SDRF deployed
The Delhi-Mumbai rail route was interrupted by filling water on the railway track near Sawai Madhopur and many trains were delayed for hours. Kota-Shyopur State Highway and other internal roads are also stalled. Police and SDRF teams are engaged in relief work to keep the situation under control.
Water in dams, relief among farmers
While rain has caused rains in cities, due to increasing water arrival in dams, Bilaspur and Jawai Dam have become full. This will improve drinking water supply of many districts including Jaipur and farmers will get water for irrigation.
