Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden qualify for ATP Finals 2024; Former to be India’s sole doubles representative in season-ending event

Indian tennis ace and his Australian doubles partner qualified for the season-ending ATP Finals 2024. This will be India’s fourth appearance in the tournament.

The duo secured their spot after Nathaniel Lammons Jackson Withrow were knocked out at the Paris Masters. Notably, Bopanna has already become the oldest Grand Slam Masters 1000 winner. He has also become the world No.1 after clinching the Australian Open.

Apart from the Indo-Aussie pair, the other three pairs to qualify for the ATP Finals 2024 are Wesley Koolhof-Nikola Mektic, Kevin Krawietz-Tim Puetz, and Harri Heliovaara-Henry Patten. Notably, this is the fourth time Bopanna has made it to the ATP Finals. He made it to the semifinals last year along with Ebden but lost to Horacio Zeballos and Marcel Granollers. Before that, he made it to the final in 2015 and 2012.

Recent form of Rohan Bopanna

Rohan Bopanna has been struggling ever since he made it to the semifinals of the French Open. While partnering with Matthew Ebden, Bopanna holds a 6-7 record. After crashing out of the US Open in the round of 16, Bopanna and Ebden took a break. Notably, the Indian ace hasn’t played a final since the Miami Open.

The duo will play the Paris Masters where they will be up against Alexander Zverev and Marcelo Melo. For the unversed, Zverev was one of the two players who knocked them out in Vienna. For those who don’t know, Rohan Bopanna has already announced his retirement from India tennis after his early exit in the Paris Olympics 2024.
