Man in India’s UP arrested for issuing death threat to actor Salman Khan, politician Zeeshan Siddique

A 20-year-old man in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) was arrested for issuing a death threat to actor Salman Khan and politician Zeeshan Siddique, the news agency PTI reported on Tuesday (Oct 29), citing a police official.

 

The police official said that the man was arrested on Monday. The official said that the accused initially sent a threatening message to Zeeshan Siddique’s helpline number and later made a voice call on it, in which he issued a death threat to the politician and Salman Khan.

Case registered, accused nabbed from Noida

A case was registered in connection with this incident on Monday. The police official said that with the help of technical evidence, the man was nabbed from UP’s Noida.

 

“He is being brought to Mumbai for investigation,” the official added. The call was made at Zeeshan’s public relations office located in Bandra East, he said.

Zeeshan’s father and former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique, was shot dead in Mumbai’s Bandra on October 12. Siddique, 66, was a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) – Ajit Pawar faction.

Zeeshan to contest Maharashtra polls.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder, citing the politician’s close ties with Salman Khan.

Recently, the NCP-Ajit Pawar faction fielded Zeeshan from the Bandra East constituency in Mumbai in the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra.
