Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 Vs Singham Again: The upcoming Diwali clash between two Bollywood biggies is shaping up to be an exciting one. With the release date of November 1 fast approaching, all eyes will be on which movie will come on top.
Expectations are high from the threequels, given the box office record of third installments in Hindi film franchises has nowhere been similar to their predecessors.
While there is a lot of debate around whether Ajay will better Kartik at the ticket window, what is adding a layer of intrigue is the presence of female leads in both movies – Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in Singham Again and Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Rohit Shetty’s cop movies have always faced criticism for being male-centric. However, when Deepika Padukone was announced to be entering the fold as Lady Singham, it stoked immense curiosity. With the trailer launch of the film, Shakti Shetty, essayed by Deepika, became the fulcrum of the film somehow. Deepika has been accepted as an action heroine after featuring in XXX, Pathaan and Jawan, and now, all eyes are on her cop avatar, a first for her.

Kareena’s story as Avni in the Singham franchise will be carried forward in the threequel. As teased in the film’s promotional material, she has become a mother to Singham’s (Ajay) child. In the film, which replicates the plot of Ramayana, Avni is kidnapped, leading to Singham launching a manhunt. Thus, Avni becomes the center of the storyline. It is expected that she will share some tense scenes with Arjun Kapoor’s character, who is the villain in Singham Again, and her abductor.

Be it Satyagraha, Omkara, Singham Returns or Golmaal franchise, they are a delight to watch on the big screens, and another reason to watch their upcoming movie. Vidya returns to Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise
Vidya Balan’s performance as Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa made it a cult classic. However, by her admission, the actress did not come on board the sequel despite being offered a part. When the trailer was released, Avni’s (Vidya) iconic and terrifying bed-lifting scene was also revealed, which proved to be an instant callback.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will bring back the classic franchise track Ami Je Tomar, sung by Shreya Ghoshal. As revealed in the video, Madhuri and Vidya will be matching steps to the song. This sequence is said to be one of the most anticipated in the film. It could very well be the highlight of the movie.

At an event, Shreya Ghoshal teased Sonu Nigam’s version of Ami Je Tomar to the audiences, saying he has added his “magic” touch to the track. With Sonu lending his vocals to the track, it is almost certain that Kartik aka Rooh Baba will feature in the song, making it a moment to look out for, given that Madhuri and Vidya are already part of it.
While the box office pull of these Diwali releases largely lies on Ajay and Kartik, the leading ladies will stake their claim come November 1.
