Some people are determined enough to change their situation, particularly the economic situation. One such person is Simran, a 21-year-old graduate in electrical engineering from IIT-Mandi.

She has landed a dream job at Microsoft with a staggering annual package of Rs 55 lakh. She grew up in a small house, where her father brought home Rs 300- Rs 500 a day, and had flipped that to just under Rs 15,000 in a day.

She cleared AIEEE in her first attempt at 17, and because she loved coding so much she chose computer science as her additional subject in her engineering studies. With laser-focused determination, Simran worked towards one single mission to overcome: Mark the biggest achievement, secure-a-choice job at Microsoft – and she did.

She achieved a significant milestone after being chosen for an internship with Microsoft’s Hyderabad campus. While speaking to the Times of India, Simran said, “During the two-month internship, I was named the best intern among 300 students. The overseas head of Microsoft flew in from the US to present the award. It was his first visit to India for such an occasion.”
