Mumbai Police in action from Diwali to elections, know why there was a ban on flying drones

Mumbai Police is alert in view of elections and Diwali. Regarding law and order in the city, the police has issued an order, in which it has been said that flying of drones, paragliders, para motors and hand gliders has been banned in Mumbai for the next 30 days. Police gave this information on Tuesday. According to the police, this is a routine action, which has been taken in view of the possibility of law and order disturbance.

The police on Monday issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, which will remain in force from October 31 to November 29, the official said. According to police orders, there will be a ban on gatherings of five or more people. However, people will be allowed to gather around weddings, funerals, corporate meetings, clubs, cinemas and schools.

According to the order, terrorists and anti-social elements can use drones, remote-controlled aircraft and paragliders to target specific individuals, endanger people’s lives and destroy public property in Mumbai.

Keeping this in mind, flying activities of drones, remote-controlled aircraft and paragliders will not be allowed in the Mumbai Police jurisdiction, except for police aerial surveillance or special permission of the DCP. Police said that strict action will be taken against those who violate the order.

The police has issued this order in view of the proposed assembly elections and Diwali in the state. The process of assembly elections is going on in the state. Police fear that some people may take advantage of the crowd and create unrest in the city. Voting is to be held in a single phase for 288 seats on November 20 in the entire state including Mumbai.
