Vidisha: A shocking incident has happened in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. Here a daughter ran away with her lover, so the family assumed her to be dead. They made his effigy, took out a mock funeral procession on the streets of the entire village and finally performed the last rites. The parents could not digest this decision of their daughter and considered her dead and cremated her.
Daughter’s one step shocked the family
This incident happened in Chuna Wali Gali area of Vidisha. The 23 year old daughter of the house, Kavita Kushwaha suddenly disappeared from the house. When the daughter went missing, the family members searched for her everywhere. When she was not found, they also lodged a complaint with the police, but there was no trace of her. A few days later, the family came to know that their daughter had eloped with a boy. They also came to know that she had secretly married that boy. The family felt deeply insulted by their daughter’s running away and they did not even come out of the house for a few days. He was finding it very difficult to face this situation.
The family performed the last rites assuming the daughter was dead.
When relatives came to know about this, they contacted the Kushwaha family and tried to console them. He also tried to provide emotional support. But the family members were not pacified by this and they decided to cremate Kavita, considering her dead. After this the Kushwaha family called the relatives home. Then he made an effigy of Kavita from wheat flour. He was placed on a decorated bamboo bier. After this, a fake funeral procession was taken out in the village by calling the band players. He was taken to the crematorium in a procession from different intersections of the city. The family had prepared a funeral pyre there. There all the rituals required after death were completed. Then Kavita’s effigy was set on fire and cremated.
Regarding this incident, Kavita’s brother Rajesh Kushwaha told that the family members used to take great care of her. She was educated and had a lot of expectations from her. The family fulfilled his every wish with great love. But he left the family and broke all our dreams. Rajesh Kushwaha said that the family’s hopes were lost, that is why this last rites have been performed.
Kavita Kushwaha’s father has described this incident as the saddest moment of his life. Kavita’s father Rambabu Kushwaha cried and said that the entire family is devastated by his daughter’s decision. He said that this is the most painful moment of his life. The video of this incident is now going viral on social media and people are commenting in various ways. Some people are saying that the girl took the right decision, while some are commenting that thankfully, she was not killed.
