Often, to make victims of fraud, swindlers assume new forms and cheat people. A similar case has now come to light from Manjalapura in Surapur taluk of Karnataka, where a gang of five people presented themselves as Swamiji and duped people. The gang has collected 10 to 20 thousand rupees from the village people and elders by cheating them on the pretext of solving their problems. In such a situation, when the villagers came to know about this, they caught three of them and handed them over to the police. Two members of the gang escaped.
This incident took place under the jurisdiction of Kodakal police station. According to information received from the police, a gang of five people went to several houses in the village. He said that if you have any problem with anyone, we will solve it. Police said that the thugs collected money from the villagers by telling them that they would solve the problem which was troubling them for a long time by using magic.
How was it revealed?
Along with the elders, the thugs also cheated the women of the village by taking the help of God. When the problems of the elderly and women were not resolved even after paying the promised amount, they became suspicious. In such a situation, the villagers caught three people. Two of them ran away. Kodakal police have arrested all three on the spot, Rs 23 thousand have been recovered from the accused. The police have returned the money to the women. The matter is being investigated by registering a report.
30 crore rupees cheated by pretending to be Baba
Recently such a case came to light in the capital Delhi. In the capital and its surrounding areas, a person named Bhuvaneshwar Sahu Dhamtari had cheated about Rs 30 crore from 300 people by promising them huge profits on investing in the share market. The accused had disguised himself as a Baba, due to which no one suspected him.
