UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam Guidelines 2025: One of India’s most prestigious and difficult exams, UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025, today i.e. 22 August 2025. This exam is for those candidates who have passed the UPSC Prelims Exam held in June. Through this examination, administrative officials like the next IAS, IPS, IFS of India will be selected.
UPSC CSE Exam Schedule 2025: UPSC Civil Service Mains Exam will be held in 5 days
This year Mains exam will be held in 5 days- 22, 23, 24, 30 and 31 August. There will be two sessions every day, first from 9 am to 12 noon and second from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. On the first day i.e. 22 August, Essay will begin with paper. UPSC has made strict rules regarding this exam, which shows how much importance is given to discipline and honesty in the examination.
UPSC Civil Service Mains 2025 Exam: Entry time at Exam Center
Candidates will have to bring with them printed E-Admit Card and real photo identity card. Keep in mind, the gate will close 30 minutes before the exam starts. After this time no candidate will be able to enter the examination center.
UPSC Exam Banned Items 2025: Electronic device completely banned at exam center
UPSC has clarified that any type of mobile, smart watch, Bluetooth device, camera, or storage media cannot be brought to the center, whether it is on or closed. Candidates can be disqualified immediately on breaking the rules and future examinations can also be banned. The examination center will not take responsibility for keeping anyone’s goods.

UPSC Mains Essential Items: What can you take to UPSC Exam Center
Candidates can only bring these goods with them-
- Admit card
- pens and pencils
- Valid identity card
- Self photo when needed
- Non-programble scientific calculator
- Simple watch (not digital or smart watch)
- Water just in transparent bottle
- Food and drink is not allowed. Use only black ballpoint pen for Attendance.
- If the photo on the admit card is unclear or incomplete, the candidate will have to bring two passport size photos and identity cards. In addition, it will also be necessary to fill undertaking so that the identity can be proved.
