When is Diwali, 31st October or 1st November? People are in dilemma regarding this. A few days ago, Kashi Vidvat Parishad in Varanasi, UP had claimed that Diwali is on 31st October. Whereas, Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid ji of Kashi and many other scholars had given the date of Diwali as 1st November. Now, regarding this, Kashi Vidvat Parishad has challenged all the scholars including Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid ji.
Said- Those who think that Diwali is on November 1, can debate with the Academic Council on October 29. You can also study through online and zoom meetings.
The Academic Council said that Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid ji should not create confusion. Challenging the Vidvat Parishad, it said – Any scholar, religious leader or institution of the country who thinks that Diwali is on 1st November, can appeal to the Kashi Vidvat Parishad. The Academic Council challenges in an open forum.
Said- Celebrating Diwali on 31st October is correct according to the scriptures. Our proposal for the date of Diwali has the support of Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Ji, Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Ji and Shankaracharya Swami Nishchilanand Ji Maharaj including Akhara Parishad, Sant Committee and Ram Bhadracharya Ji.
‘Scholars should not spread confusion’
Professor Vashishtha Tripathi, who is the Chairman of the Academic Council, and General Secretary Professor Ram Narayan Dwivedi said – Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid ji should present his stand on this subject with the Academic Council. If he is right then we will accept it. Otherwise they should not spread confusion.
The auspicious time of Ram temple was determined.
Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid, who determined the auspicious time of Ayodhya Shri Ram temple, had asked the Kashi Vidvat Parishad to reconsider. Ganeshwar Shastri Dravid ji has been a proponent of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha elections.
