In an interview to Telecom Asia, Pakistan Under-19 coaching staff member Sarfaraz Ahmed said that the behavior of the current India Under-19 team was different from the Indian teams they have played against in the past. “I have played against many Indian teams, and they treated cricket like cricket. But the behavior of this junior team was inappropriate during the final,” Sarfaraz said.
Sarfaraz Ahmed said that he had made it clear to his team that they have to continue their good behaviour. “I told my players to celebrate but celebrate decently. The Indian players were getting very emotional. Their expressions were not in keeping with the requirements of cricket,” he said.
He further said, “I had instructed my players to show sportsmanship and play the game the right way. I told them to support their team and focus on their performance.”
