A big revelation has come to light in the codeine cough syrup case in Jaunpur. The court sent the accused Bhola Jaiswal to judicial custody till January 5. The Drug Department has exposed the illegal business done by showing paper supplies through fake firms and auto-bike numbers.

Jaunpur. Revealing the layers of illegal drug trade, the issue related to codeine cough syrup is becoming increasingly serious in Jaunpur. On Monday, Bhola Jaiswal, the accused in this case, was brought from Sonbhadra jail to Jaunpur under tight security, where he was produced in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court. After the hearing, the court sent the accused to judicial custody and ordered him to be sent to jail till January 5.

Fake firms, fake trucks and paper buying and selling

Advocate Subhash Chandra Tripathi, appearing on behalf of the drug department, made shocking revelations in the court. He told that the purchase and sale of codeine cough syrup is shown only on paper. All the firms in whose name the supplies were shown were found to be fake. Not only this, the trucks shown in the documents as transporting the syrup were not actually trucks at all, rather their numbers turned out to be those of autos and bikes.

Allegations of organized illegal business

The drug department described this entire matter as illegal business carried out in a well-planned and organized manner. The advocate demanded the court to take a strict stance and said that this is not a case limited to just one accused, but a big network is working behind it.

After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court ordered to send the accused Bhola Jaiswal to judicial custody. After the court’s decision, it is believed that more important revelations may be made in this case in the coming days.

Investigation continues, action may increase

It has been made clear by the Drug Department and the police that the investigation of the case is still going on. A thorough investigation of documents, fake firms and supply network is being done. According to sources, as the investigation progresses, other people associated with this illegal business may also be targeted.
