Armaan Bhatia created history in India Masters Pickleball Tournament, won 3 titles in a single day

India Masters Pickleball Tournament was organized by Pickleball World Ranking in the capital of India, Delhi. This tournament, which ran from 24 to 27 October, was hosted by Delhi Lawn Tennis Association. On its last day, Indian player Armaan Bhatia created history with his brilliant performance. Actually, this 25 year old young player had participated in three events and won all three titles. On Sunday 27 October, he continued his dominance by winning the finals of Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories.

Defeated these players in the final

Armaan Bhatia faced toss seeded player Dustin Boyer in the men’s singles final of the India Masters Pickleball Tournament held in Delhi. Armaan displayed excellent skills in the title match. In a thrilling match, he defeated Boyer 8-11, 11-9 and 11-8. Armaan had taken a 3-0 lead in the first set. After this, Boyer made a comeback and won the first set 11-8. It was Armaan’s turn in the second set and he came back strongly. After losing the first set, he won the next set 11-9. And after trailing 0-8 in the last set, he defeated Boyer 11-8.

Shortly after winning the first title, Armaan took part in mixed doubles. Together with Netherlands’ Roos Van Reek, he defeated the pair of Danny Townsend and George Wall 11-5, 10-11 and 11-1 and also won the second title.

The last event of the tournament i.e. the men’s doubles final also started a little late. In this, along with her Indian partner Harsh Mehta, she defeated the Australian pair Mitchell Hargreaves and Roman Istreja. Armaan and Harsh also won this title by winning two back to back sets by 11-4 and 11-2. In this way Armaan won 3 titles in a single day within a span of a few hours.

750 players took part

Around 750 players took part in the 4-day long PWR India Masters tournament in Delhi. All of them were competing for the prize money of 50 thousand dollars i.e. about 42 lakh rupees. Many top pickleball players participated in this event. Players like America’s number one player Sophia Seving and top seeded Dustin Boyer made a splash in this event. The best players of the country like Armaan Bhatia and Aditya Ruhela competed from the Indian side.
