The government has taken a new and big initiative for the farmers. The name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana. The objective of this scheme is to focus on those areas where farming has not yet become a profitable deal. Under this scheme, emphasis is on reducing the cost of farming, work is done on the problems of irrigation, storage and resources. A long term strategy is made to increase the income of farmers. This scheme will run for 6 years starting from 2025-26. Initially 100 backward districts have been selected. About ₹24,000 crore will be spent every year. About 1.7 crore farmers are expected to get benefits.
