Madhuri Dixit Recalls Being Body Shamed Early On In Her Career, Told To Fix Her Nose: ‘If You’re Different…’

Madhuri Dixit recently talked about how her mother gave her mental stability, self-assurance, and fortitude. She also recalled how her guidance helped her deal with early criticism in the film industry.

The veteran actor admitted in a recent interview that early in her career in the mid-1980s, she frequently received unsolicited comments on her appearance. Madhuri Dixit recently talked about a stage that many people could find difficult to comprehend. She disclosed that others made remarks about her beauty and nose.

Madhuri Dixit recalled how people in her immediate vicinity were often pointing out her alleged shortcomings in an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel. “A lot of people told me when I had just started-do this, how is your nose, your this, your that. I used to go and say, ‘Mom, they’re saying this.’ And my mom would say, ‘Don’t worry about it. Once you have a successful movie, that’s the very thing they’ll love about you.”

 

 

Madhuri Dixit acknowledged that she had trouble believing her mother’s belief, but after Tezaab was launched and became popular, everything changed. Madhur rose to fame in an instant. In retrospect, Madhuri claimed that once the movie was successful, the commotion surrounding her appearance vanished. “After Tezaab, nobody said anything about being skinny or being this or that. People just accepted me for who I am.”
