Kapil Sibal on Voter List: Kapil Sibal has alleged irregularities in the voter list regarding Bihar elections. He said that the list is eating “termites”, along with this, he also took a dig at Amit Shah’s Constitution Amendment Bill and NDA’s majority.
Patna News: Former Law Minister Kapil Sibal has accused irregularities in the special intensive revision campaign in Bihar. He said that irregularities in the voter list are a threat to democracy. Targeting the Election Commission (ECI), Sibal said that the voter list is being hollowed out like a termite. He also questioned the Constitution Amendment Bill introduced by Amit Shah. He said that the government does not have the necessary majority to pass it. Sibal accused the central government of weakening the constitution.
‘All this is like hollowing out the voter list like a termite’
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal has questioned the preparation of the voter list in Bihar. He said that the way the names of millions of voters are being cut, new names are not being added and block level officers (BLO) are working, all this is like hollowing out the voter list like a termit. He said that at the behest of Block Development Officer (BDO), forms are being filled and uploaded without documents. Sibal said that finally, the voter list is the foundation of democracy. How will elections be held if the voter list is eaten? ”Elections will not be held properly due to irregularities in the voter list.
Government will not be able to pass the Constitution Amendment Bill
Sibal also attacked the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill introduced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, 2025. The purpose of this bill is to prevent tainted government heads from running administration from jail. Sibal claimed that the government would never be able to pass the bill as it does not have a two-thirds majority.

Sibal said
You know how the system works. Soon after the FIR is registered, the CBI arrests a person or if he does not arrest, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrests him. It takes months, years to get bail. Arvind Kejriwal, Satyendra Jain, Manish Sisodia and Hemant Soren are examples of this. “Sibal said that the NDA government does not have the necessary majority to pass this constitution amendment. He said that since 2014 we have been looking at such bills that have been brought to the purpose of depriving people of the rights given by the Constitution. “He alleged that” these are laws that have the ability to harm the constitution like termites and to hollow out a functional structure. “He says that the central government wants to eliminate democracy. Sibal has said that Sibal has stated serious danger in voter list. If the list is not correct, the elections will not be correct.
