Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan is relieved from the Supreme Court. He has got bail in 8 cases related to May 9. Even after this, it is difficult for Imran to come out of jail soon. Many more cases are pending against him.
Imran Khan bail: Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan, who is jailed, is relieved from the Pakistani Supreme Court. The court on Thursday approved bail petitions in 8 cases related to the violence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran. The decision came during the hearing of several cases registered against Imran Khan after the 2023 nationwide protests and attacks on government and military bases.
Imran Khan’s early release is not possible even after relief
According to Don’s report, a three -member bench led by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi heard the petitions with Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui and Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb. The bench was restructured to hear bail petitions.
However, even after relief, Imran Khan’s early release is unlikely. He has been in jail since 2023. He was first arrested and imprisoned in a case related to government gifts. During being the Prime Minister, Imran Khan received expensive gifts from the countries of the Middle East and other countries. It is alleged that Imran incorrectly took the gifts worth crores of rupees and sold it to the market. Imran is also pending several other cases related to the May 9 riots.
PTI said-Imran Khan won
Welcoming the Supreme Court’s decision, PTI described it as “Imran Khan’s victory” in a post on X. PTI quoted Imran Khan as saying, “Remember one thing: When the night becomes the most black, it means that it is going to be morning”.
