Both the films ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ have been very good films of their respective genres. Both these films had become a big decision at one time in the life of actor Varun Dhawan. While sharing an incident, he mentioned that both the films were released on the same day, during which his father David Dhawan was very disappointed with him. Out of the two films, Varun liked Karan Johar’s film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ more.
In the year 1998, David Dhawan’s directorial ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ and Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ were released. Out of these two films, Varun Dhawan liked ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ more, but David Dhawan did not like this thing about him at all. David Dhawan also got angry at Varun Dhawan regarding this matter. However, at the time this film came out, Varun did not know Karan Johar.
Limousine with picture of Govinda-Amitabh
While talking to Indian Express, Varun told that the premiere of ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ was done in London, for which he had gone there with his father. At that time, the filmmakers had sent a limousine to pick him up, on which was a picture of Govinda and Amitabh Bachchan, in which both of them were making funny faces. When he was going for the premiere, he told his father that ‘Kuch-Kuch Hota Hai’ was a great film. David Dhawan got angry after hearing this.
‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ earned well
David Dhawan scolded Varun and said that stop it, otherwise I will send you down this path, to which the actor replied that you cannot behave like this with children here. However, when the film was released, ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ did very well at the box office, while ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ left a positive impact. Later in the year 2012, Varun Dhawan got his first break from Karan Johar’s film ‘Student of the Year’.
