The hearing of the first case under the new law Indian Justice Code 2023 has been completed in Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. While hearing this case, for the first time in Uttar Pradesh, a court has sentenced the culprit to life imprisonment. This case was of rape of a six year old innocent girl. Along with sentencing the convict to life imprisonment, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh. In this the victim will get three lakh rupees. Let us tell you that this is the second case of punishment in Uttar Pradesh under the new law.
The matter is of a village in Kuthound police station area. Here, at 2 pm on July 9, Lallan Singh of the same village had raped an innocent six-year-old girl. After coming home, the victim girl informed her mother about the incident. After this, the girl’s mother took her to the police station and filed a case against the accused Lallan Singh. The police also immediately came into action and registered a case against the accused under the new law and arrested him.
Trial completed in 90 days
Jalaun’s District Government Advocate Lakhanlal Niranjan and Additional Government Advocate Brijraj Rajput, who represented the case, said that POCSO Court Judge Mohammad Qamar completed the hearing of the case within just 90 days and declared the accused guilty and for that Punishment was also announced. He told that after the incident, DM Rajesh Kumar Pandey and Superintendent of Police Dr. Durgesh Kumar themselves had taken cognizance of this matter.
Charge sheet was presented in 16 days
Because of this, the police completed the investigation in just 16 days and filed the charge sheet against the accused in the court. According to the government advocate, a fine of Rs 5 lakh has been imposed on the accused. Out of this, Rs 3 lakh will be given to the victim. He told that this is the second case of punishment under the new law. However, for the first time the court of Jalaun has sentenced a criminal to life imprisonment under the new law.
