Jewar Airport Ganga Expressway: ₹1,246 crore has been allocated in the supplementary budget for the Jewar Airport-Ganga Expressway link, which will speed up land acquisition.

Lucknow, 22 December. The Yogi government has made a provision of ₹1,246 crore in the supplementary budget for the construction of an entry-controlled greenfield expressway from Jewar Airport to Ganga Expressway to give a new impetus to industrial development and global connectivity. The process of land acquisition will be expedited through this fund. This project is being considered as a decisive step towards further strengthening Uttar Pradesh on the global map of international investment, logistics and industrial expansion. Through this Greenfield Expressway, Noida International Airport (Jewar) is being directly connected to Ganga Expressway, which will provide seamless movement of goods transport, exports, industrial supply chain and passenger movement. The government believes that this corridor will give an unprecedented boost to investment attraction, employment generation and development of industrial clusters in the state.

Obstacles in the development of expressways will be removed

Giving comprehensive support to industrial and infrastructure development in the supplementary budget, a provision of ₹ 1,835 crore has been made under BGF for the Ganga Expressway Project and ₹ 100 crore for the Gorakhpur Link Expressway Project. Through this proposed amount, the obstacles in the development of expressways will be removed. A symbolic demand of ₹ 5 lakh has been made for the construction of a new public convenience complex and vehicle parking spaces on the left side of the 292 kilometer stretch of the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, which will be borne by the savings in grants.

Provision of funds for investment promotion also

To give impetus to industrial investment, the government has also proposed huge funds under various investment promotion policies. Funds have been proposed to meet the additional requirement of ₹ 75 crore for the implementation of Accelerated Investment Promotion Policy 2020, ₹ 371.69 crore under Foreign Direct Investment and Investment Promotion Policy of Fortune-500 Companies 2023, ₹ 23.03 crore under Uttar Pradesh Oxygen Production Incentive Policy 2021 and ₹ 823.43 crore under Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022. Apart from this, a provision of ₹ 100 crore has been made for the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Policy 2012 and ₹ 300 crore for the Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2017.

Budget also received for small scale industries and export promotion

To strengthen small scale industries and export promotion, a provision of ₹ 1.5 crore has been made for the establishment expenditure of the District Industries Center and ₹ 1.5 crore has also been made for the establishment expenditure of the Directorate of Industries. At the same time, a provision of ₹ 85 crore has been made for the payment of tree felling and compensatory tree plantation fees for the operation of PM Mitra Park in the handloom sector.
