Pakistan won the title by defeating India by 191 runs in the Under-19 Asia Cup final. Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif has announced a reward of PKR 1 crore for the winning team and PCB has announced a reward of PKR 50 lakh.
Karachi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced a big reward for the members of the Pakistani cricket team which won the title by defeating India in the Under-19 Asia Cup final. At the welcome ceremony of the title-winning Pakistani team, the Prime Minister announced a reward of one crore Pakistani rupees (about 32 lakh in Indian rupees) for the team members. Pakistan team’s mentor and manager Sarfaraz Ahmed informed the media about the Prime Minister’s announcement of the reward.
Pakistan’s great victory against India
Pakistan defeated India by 191 runs in the final match held in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. This achievement of Pakistan’s young players, who won the title by defeating India, has also been praised by Pakistan’s Interior Minister and Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi. Naqvi said that this victory is a milestone for Pakistan cricket. Naqvi had also announced that the Pakistan Cricket Board would give a reward of 50 lakh Pakistani rupees to the members of the winning team. While India dominates Pakistan in senior cricket, Pakistan has dominated India in junior cricket since 2019. After 2019, both the teams came face to face 11 times at the junior level, out of which Pakistan won seven times.
India had defeated Pakistan in the group stage of Asia Cup. But the team missed the final match. Just as the Indian senior team had lost to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy in 2017, similarly it had to face defeat in the Under-19 Asia Cup yesterday. The team members who returned to Pakistan after winning the title were welcomed at the airport like World Cup winners.

After losing the toss and batting first, Pakistan team scored 347 runs losing 8 wickets in 50 overs with the help of a stormy century by opener Sameer Minhas (172). While chasing this difficult target, India got a stormy start, but after that wickets kept falling continuously. In the end India was all out for 156 runs. With this the team had to face a heavy defeat of 191 runs.
