The legacy of the crime show CID still invokes a strong sense of nostalgia among many. The cult serial ran for a little over two decades, cementing the characters in the minds of ardent fans.

till today stays one of the OG shows and is loved by everyone. Sony TV’s official Instagram handle has announced the show’s comeback with a teaser. The teaser also announced that the show will drop a promo on October 26, which has made fans loose their calm. Along with the small teaser, the caption read, “Mark your calendars – 26th October ko hoga ek dhamakedar promo drop!”.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the new season of CID is set to go on floors in Mumbai from November this year. Reports suggest that the sources have said, “The makers have heard the constant demand from the audience to bring the cult series back, and extensively worked on multiple scripts to chalk out a perfect season after a long break.”
As per the reports, the idea of bringing the crime series is targeted for December, around Christmas or New Year . Apart from the OG trio, ACP Pradyuman, Daya and Abhijeet, there will new additions to the cast and names will be revealed with due course of time. The show will air on Sony TV.

For the unversed, CID ran from January 21, 1998 to October 27, 2018. The show has 1547 episodes in total. Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty , Aditya Srivastava and Dinesh Phadnis made up a part of CID’s leading cast. The show also starred Alana Sayed, Ajay Nagrath, Janvi Chheda, Shraddha Musale, Sudhanshu Pandey, Gaurav Khanna, Hrishikesh Pandey, Dinesh Phadnis, Tanya Abrol among others.

The record was previously held by a Russian documentary that was 88 minutes long and was shot without cuts. During the interview, interestingly, the actors even hinted at their return but clarified it might not be CID but something else.
