Akhilesh Yadav hit back at Yogi Adityanath’s statement of “two samples”, calling it an irritation arising from the internal power struggle of BJP. The statement given in the Assembly on the cough syrup issue was considered a taunt on Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh, which has increased the political conflict.

Lucknow. Akhilesh Yadav has reacted sharply to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “two samples” taunt. He has distorted the Chief Minister’s statement and said that the alleged power struggle within the BJP has now come to the fore. In a video which is now going viral, Adityanath is seen speaking in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The opposition had tried to corner the state government over the alleged smuggling of codeine cough syrup in Uttar Pradesh and said that if timely action had been taken, the lives of hundreds of children could have been saved.

There are two samples, one lives in Lucknow and the other in Delhi.

Rejecting this allegation, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that not a single child has died due to drinking cough syrup in Uttar Pradesh. Without naming anyone, he told members of the main opposition Samajwadi Party, “There are two samples, one in Delhi and the other in Lucknow. Whenever there is any discussion in the country, he runs away abroad. I think the same is happening with your babua. He will go to England and you people will keep shouting here.”

There was uproar over Yogi’s ‘three monkeys’ statement

Although Adityanath did not take anyone’s name in the video, this comment is being considered as a target towards Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. Earlier, Adityanath had mocked Gandhi, Yadav and RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, calling them “three monkeys” and calling them “Pappu”, “Tappu” and “Appu”. Addressing a rally ahead of Bihar elections, Yogi had said, “Just like Mahatma Gandhi had three monkeys, today the INDIA alliance has brought three monkeys in the name of Pappu, Tappu and Appu (Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav). Pappu cannot speak the truth or say anything good. Tappu cannot see any truth, and Appu cannot hear the truth.

Akhilesh Yadav retaliated and surrounded Yogi.

At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav has now responded to Adityanath’s statement of “two samples” on X. Yadav said, no one had thought that the Delhi-Lucknow fight would reach this extent. People holding constitutional posts should not cross the limits of decorum. BJP should not bring its internal fight in front of everyone. Samajwadi Party has repeatedly claimed that there is a power tussle between the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh and the BJP leadership at the Centre. Those claiming a power struggle between the BJP central leadership and Yogi Adityanath have pointed to the appointment of the Deputy Chief Minister and certain bureaucrats and argued that these are aimed at limiting the powers of the Chief Minister. Adityanath has rejected such claims and said that he is in this post because of the party.
