Two miscreants Pramod Kumar and Rajesh were injured during a police encounter in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar. Both of them were shot in the legs. Police have arrested him with stolen bike and illegal weapons. There are 113 criminal cases registered against a criminal.
New Delhi [भारत]June 30 (ANI): Two alleged criminals were shot and injured in an encounter with a joint team of South East Delhi Police, Special Task Force (STF) and Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) near Jal Vihar in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar area late on Monday night. Police gave this information.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Pramod Kumar alias Tutan and Rajesh. During the firing, both of them got shot in their right legs and were admitted to Safdarjung Hospital for treatment.
Police laid a trap and caught the miscreants
Police said that they had received information that both the wanted criminals were going towards Jal Vihar on a stolen motorcycle to commit some crime.
Acting on this information, a trap was laid and the suspects reached the spot at around 12:15 am on the intervening night of June 29 and 30. When the police signaled them to stop, the accused allegedly left their motorcycle and started firing at the police team.
The police retaliated in self-defence, in which both the accused were shot in the right leg. After this he was controlled and taken into custody.
Illegal weapon recovered, 113 cases against a criminal
Police have recovered an illegal pistol and a country-made pistol along with a magazine and one live cartridge from the accused.
According to the police, during the encounter the accused fired three rounds, while the police team retaliated by firing four rounds.
Police said that Pramod Kumar alias Tutan is a habitual criminal, against whom 113 criminal cases have been registered against him for robbery, attempt to murder and under the Arms Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway. (ANI)
