Does it often happen to you that you are in a meeting or driving and miss someone’s call? Then you keep thinking, “I don’t know what was important to talk about.” Now Truecaller has ended this tension.
The company has launched its Voicemail feature for Android users in India.
The best part is that it’s free! Now if someone calls you and you are not able to pick up, he can leave a voice message. And listen, you don’t even need to listen to that message, you can also read it (text) because it also has transcription feature with the help of AI. According to the company, this tool is available to all free users in the country. However, those who are Premium Subscribers will get its AI Assistant version which is a bit smarter.
Learn things by reading, not by listening (AI Transcription)
The most special thing about this feature is its AI-powered Transcription. Suppose you are in an office meeting and cannot hear the voice message. Truecaller will convert that voice message into text. This transcription is available in 12 Indian languages. That means if someone leaves a message in Hindi, English or any regional language, you can easily read it without having to call back.
How does it work?
Although voicemail is a very old concept, Truecaller has presented it in a new style. To activate this feature, you will have to enable call forwarding on your mobile number. A separate tab for voicemail will appear in the app.
Update: The company has advised that to use this feature, immediately update your app to the latest version.
Complete guarantee of privacy
There is often talk of data privacy regarding Truecaller, but this time the company has given assurance. The company says that all voicemails are stored directly on your device (phone). These messages are not sent to any server. The AI feature takes the help of ‘Downloaded Packs’ for different languages, keeping your privacy in your hands.
What is special in premium?
Free users get basic voicemail, but premium users get an AI assistant.
This assistant can answer your call, talk to the other person and ask them why they called.
Competition with government’s CNAP
This step of Truecaller has come at a time when the CNAP (Caller Name Presentation) system of the Government of India is gradually being implemented. CNAP shows the real name of the caller without any app. In such a situation, Truecaller wants to keep its users connected by bringing new features (like Voicemail).
