Late night, there was firing and stone pelting on the train near Arrah, due to which the glass of the General bogie was broken. This sudden incident created panic among the passengers and an atmosphere of panic persisted for a long time.
Ruckus broke out near Jamira Halt
The incident occurred when Seemanchal Express was passing between Arrah’s Chaliswan Bridge and Jamira Halt. As soon as the train stopped, unknown people suddenly started pelting stones. Meanwhile, hearing the sound of firing, panic spread among the passengers and people were forced to hide under the seats.
Glass broken, but no passengers injured
The glass of General bogie was broken due to stone pelting by miscreants. However, it is a matter of relief that no passenger has been reported injured in this incident. Despite this, the incident that happened late at night shocked the passengers.

Police reached the spot as soon as information was received
As soon as information about firing on the train was received, RPF, GRP and police of Mofussil police station reached the spot. Ara Sadar SDPO Forest Raj Kumar Sah and Railway DSP Kanchan Raj also reached the spot with the police force. Police have cordoned off the area and started investigation.
The train was stopped by chain pulling
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Seemanchal Express was already running late due to fog. Meanwhile, someone stopped the train by pulling a chain between Chaliswan Bridge and Jamira Halt. When the escort party’s jawan tried to see the situation by torchlight, suddenly stone pelting and firing started.
The incident is being linked to liquor trade.
An FIR has been registered against unknown people on the statement of Sanjeev Kumar, a soldier of the escort party aboard the train. Police are also investigating this incident by linking it to illegal liquor trade. Shells have been recovered from the spot, which has confirmed the firing.
After the incident, an attempt was made to catch the miscreants, but they escaped taking advantage of the darkness. At present, the police is conducting a search operation in the surrounding areas and is engaged in a thorough investigation of the entire matter. Railway administration has also become alert regarding security arrangements.
