BJP received donations of ₹6073 crore in the last financial year, an increase of 53%. After electoral bonds, now electoral trust is the main source of donations. Serum Institute, Vedanta and Rungta Sons are among the major donors.
New Delhi: Last Friday, BJP released the complete details of donations received in the last financial year. According to this, Rs 6073 crore came into BJP’s account in a single year. This is 53% more than last year. In 2023-24, BJP had received donations of Rs 3967 crore. Of this, 42% was received through electoral bonds at that time.
But after the abolition of electoral bonds, now electoral trusts have become the main source of donations for political parties. Through this, BJP got Rs 3112 crore. The remaining Rs 2,961 crore was given to BJP by people and corporate companies. Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd (Rs 100 crore), Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd (Rs 95 crore), and Vedanta Ltd (Rs 67 crore) were among the other big donors. Major companies making donations are Macrotech Developers Ltd (Rs 65 crore), Derive Investments (Rs 53 crore), Modern Road Makers Pvt Ltd (Rs 52 crore), and Lotus Hometextiles Ltd (Rs 51 crore).
Safal Goyal Reality LLP, ITC Ltd, Global IV Ventures LLP, ITC Infotech India Ltd, Hero Enterprises Partner Ventures, Mankind Pharma Ltd, Suresh Amritlal Kotak and Hindustan Zinc Ltd are some of the other companies making big donations to the BJP. The donations received by BJP in 2024-25 are the highest in the last five years.
