New Delhi: The residents of Delhi witnessed a marginal improvement in the Air Quality Index (AQI) on Monday, December 22, as the overall AQI recorded at 377 and took the city from ‘severe’ to ‘very poor.’
While several areas are still in the ‘severe’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board website, Narela remained at the top with an AQI of 418, followed by Bawana (408), Wazirpur (403), and Anand Vihar (402) in the early morning.
The CPCB classified the AQI between 0 and 50 as good, 51-100 as satisfactory, 101-200 as moderate, 201-300 as poor, 301-400 as very poor, and 401-500 as severe.
The Met department issued a yellow alert for most places after fog turned dense across the city in the morning hours of December 22.
