‘It’s Just Phenomenal, the Whole Set-up is Outstanding’: Aaliya Ebrahim on Her First IPBL Season

Aaliya Ebrahim said the Indian Pickleball League proved to be a significant learning phase in her career as she played a key role for Chennai Super Warriors during the 2025 season.

Ebrahim featured prominently in doubles matches for Chennai and contributed during extended rallies, where she delivered several important points. The youngster entered the league with strong national credentials, having won multiple domestic titles, and went on to help Chennai Super Warriors finish third in the standings.

Reflecting on her preparation before the tournament, Ebrahim said adapting to doubles was her biggest focus. “I mainly play singles, like that’s been my forte, I love playing singles. Coming in, I knew I had to play doubles, and I honestly didn’t feel any pressure. I thought it would be tough for me to transition, but it’s just been so smooth because of the teammates that I have,” she told Pickleball Now.

Ebrahim also said that the team environment played a major role in easing the transition. “It’s going great so far. I’ve learned a lot,” she said.

The Chennai Super Warriors player also praised the overall organisation of the league. “It’s just phenomenal, the whole setup and everything is outstanding. I’m really glad that I get to be a part of it and play with all these amazing players,” she said.

She described the atmosphere at the venue as energetic and motivating. “The atmosphere is crazy. All the players, all the teams, all the owners, the coaches, everyone out here is just so pumped,” she said, adding that the experience made the league enjoyable despite the competitive intensity.

“It’s just so much fun, and I’m just having a great time. It’s just amazing being out here,” Ebrahim said.

Chennai Super Warriors dominated the round-robin stage of the tournament and held the top spot in the points table until day four of the league at the KD Jadhav Hall, Delhi.
