Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh will visit a school in Vizianagaram on Tuesday. Earlier on Monday, Pradhan performed puja at Jagannath temple in Puri on the occasion of Dev Snan Purnima and participated in the Snan Yatra.
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [भारत]June 30 (ANI): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh are scheduled to visit PM Shri AP Model School in Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district on Tuesday.
As per the official schedule, both the ministers will visit the school between 9:30 am and 11:00 am. He is expected to reach the institute soon.
Worship was done in Jagannath temple of Puri.
Earlier on Monday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan offered prayers at the Jagannath temple in Puri and witnessed the sacred ‘Snan Yatra’ of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra on the occasion of Dev Snan Purnima. It is one of the major rituals before the annual Rath Yatra.
After performing the puja, Pradhan expressed his gratitude for getting the opportunity to have darshan of Lord Jagannath and seek his blessings. Pradhan told ANI, “I feel extremely fortunate to have got the opportunity to have the darshan of Mahaprabhu on the auspicious occasion of Snan Purnima. I am deeply grateful. In this time of global crisis, may the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannath be on human civilization, on our India, and on our state of Odisha; only then can there be prosperity and happiness in the lives of all of us. May the blessings of God act as the guiding light for our lives.”
What is Dev Snan Purnima?
On the day of Dev Snan Purnima, brother and sister deities are bathed with 108 pots of holy water. After this ritual, it is believed that the deity falls ill and remains away from public darshan during the period of ‘Ansar’ before reappearing for the annual Rath Yatra.
Following the age-old tradition, thousands of devotees gathered to witness the sacred bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra. This festival marks the bathing of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra with 108 pots of water in a sacred ritual. Devotees had come from all over the country to be a part of this event. (ANI)
