Chief minister Chandrababu is very clear about delivering public friendly governance this term. He had been repeatedly emphasising on this aspect and instructing his MLAs and MPs accordingly.
But the detrimental thing here is that the TDP MLAs are making things rather very tough for Chandrababu with their unfounded and completely unnecessary actions. There have been several such instances in the recent past.
The most prominent of the list is Anantapur MLA Daggupati Venkat Prasad, who has created a completely unnecessary controversy with NTR fans. A leaked telephonic conversation where he is heard abusing NTR and calling for curbs on War 2 went viral and creates a huge mess.
To top it off, Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy is now in the news for allegedly attacking the Forest range officials along with his men. This matter has also reached deputy CM and also the forestry minister Pawan Kalyan.
On the other side, the videos of Guntur East MLA Naseer and Amudalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar also went viral, irrespective of the truth behind.
Earlier there were instances like Tiruvuru MLA Kolikipudi is in bad books for targeting Govt officials.
While Chandrababu and his top leadership is focused on bringing investments and enhancing the social infrastructure of Andhra Pradesh, his MALs are going on uncharted roads and bringing new headaches everyday.
After the TDP returned to power with NDA alliance and won 134 MLAs on its own, a lot more resolute and command is expected over the MLAs. But with Chandrababu, prioritising state progress and social investments, the grip over party affairs appears to be slipping.
Similar issues have historically costed TDP very badly in the past as the public never tolerate such antisocial activities from local MLAs. Babu is very much aware of this, and has been repeatedly warning his public representatives against the same.
Perhaps stricter action like possible suspension, and vocal reprimand could change the situation. And there is no better person to adjudicate this than the veteran Chandrababu himself. But the issue is that he must act quickly before more MLAs go down this road and cause more damage.
