As soon as the current registration for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra started in Jammu, a huge crowd of pilgrims has gathered. The first batch will leave on July 2. The administration has made adequate arrangements for drinking water, langar and security for the convenience of the devotees.
Registration begins for Amarnath Yatra
Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir) [भारत]June 30 (ANI): A large number of pilgrims gathered at the registration center in Jammu on Monday as current registration and token distribution began before the start of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
The first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu on July 2, while the pilgrimage from Baltal and Pahalgam base camps is scheduled to begin on July 3.
Extensive arrangements for devotees
The administration has made elaborate arrangements for current registration at Jammu Tawi riverfront, where devotees have started arriving to collect tokens and complete the registration formalities. The authorities have also set up other facilities including drinking water, langar services and elaborate security arrangements for smooth movement and convenience of the pilgrims at the token distribution and registration centre.
Multi-layered security system for travel
Further arrangements have been made to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the Yatra. CRPF Commandant Rajesh Kumar said multi-layered security arrangements including X-ray screening, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and multi-layered security have been made to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
Every pilgrim is being thoroughly investigated
Speaking to ANI on Monday, Kumar said that every pilgrim has to undergo security check at the frisking point before proceeding on the yatra. He said that all goods and vehicles are thoroughly checked as per security protocols.
“First, the pilgrims come to our frisking point where they undergo X-ray screening. Several teams of CRPF bomb disposal squads and dog squads are deployed at the spot. Every luggage and every vehicle is inspected,” Kumar said.
He said the CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies are working in close coordination to ensure smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage. “CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security forces are working diligently to manage the entire pilgrimage,” he said.
Kumar further said that for the convenience of the devotees, registration facility has also been established in Pahalgam town. (ANI)
