Step 2: Drying leaves

Now spread the washed leaves on a cotton cloth or on a clean newspaper. Do not dry them in direct sunlight, because strong sunlight can lighten the tone of mehndi and its natural fragrance also decreases. Place the leaves in a shady and airy place where there is no moisture. Leave them for 3 to 4 days until they dry completely.

When the leaves dry well, add them to the mixer or grinder and grind them finely. If you want, you can also grind dry leaves of neem during this time. Neem provides anti-bacterial properties to mehndi, which are beneficial for skin and scalp. Now filter the ground mehndi powder with a fine sieve so that the powder becomes uniform and fine. If some thick pieces remain thick, then grind them again.
