Mumbai Squad for Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025: Vijay Hazare Trophy is to start from 24th December, for which Mumbai has announced its team. 16 players have got a place in the team, one of which is Rohit Sharma. Mumbai team will be seen playing in the tournament under the captaincy of Shardul Thakur. Many things are important in the selection of the team, like getting a place for two brothers, getting a place for Rohit Sharma’s guru brother and getting a chance for two wicketkeepers.

How many matches will Rohit Sharma play in Vijay Hazare Trophy?

Rohit Sharma had already expressed his availability for Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, he will be part of Mumbai team only for 2 matches. Meaning, only two matches will be played in the tournament. For Rohit Sharma, this tournament is very important for his preparations for the ODI series against New Zealand. A 3-match ODI series with New Zealand will be played in January next year, with matches taking place on 11th, 14th and 18th.

Who is Rohit Sharma’s Gurubhai?

Apart from Rohit Sharma, his gurubhai i.e. Siddhesh Lad has also made a place in the Mumbai team. Siddhesh Lad has been a part of the Mumbai team for a long time. As far as his Gurubhai connection with Rohit Sharma is concerned, this connection is because both are disciples of the same Guru. Siddhesh Lad’s father Dinesh Lad has also been the coach of Rohit Sharma like his son.

Khan brothers also join the team

Apart from Rohit Sharma’s Gurubhai, Khan Brothers – i.e. Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan – have also been selected in the Mumbai team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Apart from these, two wicketkeepers have been included in the team in the form of Hardik Tamor and Akash Anand. The team selected under the captaincy of Shardul Thakur looks quite balanced.
