In such a situation, Kohli had also given his consent to play in Vijay Hazare Trophy after almost 15 years and now his return has been confirmed.

Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) announced its squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Friday 19 December. In this, DDCA also announced that Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant have made themselves available to play in the tournament and hence they will be selected for the tournament. Along with this, Rishabh Pant has also been appointed the captain of the team for the tournament. That means, in this tournament, Kohli can be seen playing under the captaincy of Pant. Apart from these two, Ishant Sharma, Navdeep Saini and Harshit Rana will also be available for the tournament.

On which day will Kohli take the field?

However, which matches Virat and Pant will play has not been revealed yet. DDCA announced a squad of 16 members for the first two matches, in which none of them were selected. Ayush Badoni has been made the vice-captain of the team. In such a situation, only Badoni can take command of the team in the first two matches. However, if Kohli and Pant arrive then they may still get a place in the squad. If reports are to be believed, Kohli will play at least 2 matches in this tournament. The tournament is starting from 24th December and Delhi will play its matches in Bengaluru.
