IND vs SA 4th T20i, Lucknow: Pollution has become a topic of discussion during the match between India and South Africa in Lucknow. Before the match, Team India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen in the field wearing a mask. It is being claimed that due to the pollution in Lucknow, he went out wearing a face mask. A separate claim is being made on social media that during the match the pollution level of Lucknow had crossed 400. In such a situation, it is very dangerous to go out, because this much AQI falls in the dangerous category.

Other Indian players did not wear masks

Indian player Hardik Pandya was the only one seen roaming on the field wearing a mask, and that too only for a short time. None of the other players were seen doing this. After some time, Hardik was also seen without a mask. South African players were also not wearing face masks. Toss delayed due to heavy fog

The toss for this match was scheduled to take place at 6.30 pm, but it was stopped due to heavy fog. Actually, at the same time, more fog started appearing in Ekana Cricket Stadium of Lucknow. The stands there were also not visible properly. Due to this, the decision to stop the toss was taken by the umpire. It was told that this happened due to delay in fog. However, when the umpire inspected the field at 7, 7:30 and 8 o’clock, something seemed to be changing. Now the next inspection will be at 8:30.

Shadow of smog over Indian cricket

The way smog has disrupted this match to be held in Lucknow, it is not a good sign for the times to come. If such pollution continues further, it will become difficult for many North Indian states including Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow to organize matches. Something similar was seen in the match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023. At that time pollution had become a topic of discussion in Delhi. This has happened in Delhi before also.
