Jalalabad located in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh is considered to be an attempt to restore the oldest pride of the naming place of Parashurampuri after Lord Parashurama. Although claims of Lord Parashuram Janmasthali are made in many places in the country, but according to the source received so far, they are clearly born in Shahjahanpur. Dr. Brahmanand Shukla’s book Lord Parashuram Mahagatha Research Granth underlines ten such schedules, which shows that Lord Parashurama was born in Jalalabad area of Shahjahanpur. Evidence is found from articles written in many books
It is clear from the articles found in the book that the name of this place was earlier Jogi Kheda and in Prayagraj it was known as Parashuram Puri. At the same time, the ruler Hakim Ahmed Khan married his son Jalaluddin here and gave the whole area to his daughter -in -law. In this, the famous name of that area was Jalalabad. At the same time, Shahjahanpur Gazetteer connects its naming to Sultan Jalaluddin Khilji and Jalaluddin Akbar.
‘Lord Parashurama was born here’
There is Maharishi Jamadagni, the ashram of Mata Renuka and the temple of Dakhain Devi at a short distance away from Lord Parashuram temple. Along with this, Ganga ji’s edge is. Sahaswan, who is popularly known as King Sahastrabahu, has many evidences which clarify that Lord Parashurama was born here. Hafiz Rahmat Khan captured Garhi
In the medieval period, the population of this place progressed rapidly and Chandel and Bachheel Rajput houses brought many land under agriculture. From the thirteenth century, there was a fabric of Bachheel Rajputs, on which in the year 1766, Ruhela ruler Hafiz Rahmat Khan took control and gave him the form of a fort. A police station, dispensary and tehsil were established here during the British period.
