In the second T20 match played in Belfast on Sunday 28 June, Ireland defeated India by 1 run. With this, the Irish team had made a clean sweep of Team India 2-0 in the 2-match series. This is the biggest series win in the history of Ireland’s cricket. The Irish cricket team, its fans and the media there were celebrating this victory when, within less than 24 hours, on Monday, June 29, the news of the resignation of coach Heinrich Malan came.
