Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly stated that farmers do not need to be upset, sufficient amount of fertilizer is available in the state.

Appeal to farmers, do not storage, take fertilizer whenever you want

The Chief Minister has appealed to the farmers not to store unnecessary fertilizer. When the need is needed, take the same fertilizer. The CM also assured that there is a complaint cell in every district, where farmers can inform about any problem.

Why did the distribution of fertilizer increase this year?

According to the Department of Agriculture, this year there has been an increase in sales of fertilizer compared to the previous year.

  • Last year (2024) Kharif session sold 36.76 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer.
  • This year (2025) farmers have purchased 42.64 lakh metric tonnes of manure till 18 August.

Urea has the highest consumption in this. This time 31.62 lakh metric tonnes have been distributed compared to 27.25 lakh metric tons. That is, 4.37 lakh metric tonnes more sales from last year.

What are more fertilizers used?

  • Urea – 31.62 lakh metric tons
  • DAP – 5.38 lakh metric tons
  • NPK Fertilizer – 2.39 lakh metric tons
  • MOP Fertilizer – 0.46 lakh metric tons
  • SSP Fertilizer – 2.79 lakh metric tons

These figures show that this time after sowing of kharif crops, urea has been the highest demand for top-dressing.

What step is the government taking?

CM Yogi has instructed the officials that:

  • There should be regular monitoring in districts.
  • Problems should be resolved by communicating directly with the farmers.
  • Strict action should be taken against those who do black marketing and overturing.

Mandal wise status – where so much stock?

There is a stock of adequate fertilizer in all 18 divisions of the state. For example:

  • 18,734 MT urea in Saharanpur,
  • 52,100 metric tonnes of urea in Kanpur,
  • 57,212 MT urea in Prayagraj,
  • 41,066 metric tonnes of urea is available in Lucknow.

Similarly, adequate reserves of urea, DAP and NPK have been kept in all the divisions.

Relief for farmers

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly said that there is no need to worry about fertilizer. The government has made adequate arrangements to meet all the needs of the farmers during the Kharif session. The Yogi government claims that there is no shortage of fertilizer in the state and if someone does black marketing, then strict action will be taken on it. The biggest message to the farmers at the moment is that they should do farming in a relaxed, the state government has made complete arrangements for fertilizer.
