Parliament protest 2025: TMC MPs in Parliament have accused Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Ravneet Singh Bittu of blowing and assault from women MPs. The uproar started in Parliament following this allegation of TMC MPs. Two women MPs Shatabdi Roy and Mithali alleged that they were pushed. All this dispute took place during the opposition’s performance over three big bills.

TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee said that when we were raising slogans, Bittu and Rijiju came and started attacking our women MPs. They pushed. Bittu is a minister, he should resign immediately. They are attacking women.

BJP denied allegations

BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal said that TMC’s charge is completely baseless. He said that no MP of the ruling party shocked women MPs.

Uproar in Parliament over disputed bills

In fact, the opposition was creating a ruckus over the three disputed bills appearing in Parliament. The ruckus took place with three bills, Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill 2025, 130th Amence Bill 2025, Jammu and Kashmir Regulation (Amendment) Bill 2025.

There is a provision in these bills that if the Prime Minister, Chief Minister or a minister stays in custody for 30 days, then they will have to resign on the 31st day or they will be removed from the post automatically. For this, Article 75, 164 and 239AA of Constitution is proposed to be amended.

The TMC and the opposition say that this is a non -constitutional bill. By bringing this, the BJP government wants to suppress the voice of the opposition. Opposition MPs tore the bill copies of the bill and threw it towards Home Minister Amit Shah (Amit Shah). TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee said that this bill is a way to silence the opposition and misuse power. The government is running away from accountability.

Bills will be sent to JPC

Home Minister Amit Shah assured that these bills would be sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee – JPC which will include MPs from both houses. The committee will submit its report before the Winter Session.
