Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level meeting in the annexe and reviewed the target of one trillion dollar economy, 2025-26 budget and departmental progress. Describing agriculture, energy and industry as the basis of development, instructions were given to speed up the works and strict monitoring.
With the aim of establishing Uttar Pradesh as the economic powerhouse of the country, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given clear indications of increasing both speed and accountability towards the one trillion dollar economy. In a high-level meeting held in the Annexe, the Chief Minister thoroughly reviewed the updated progress of the works related to the One Trillion Dollar Economy and the budget allocation and expenditure for the financial year 2025-26. He bluntly said that the state is moving in the right direction, but now the pace and coordination will have to be further strengthened.
Historic boom in the economy of Uttar Pradesh
In the meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that the GSDP of the state was Rs 12.5 lakh crore in the year 2016-17, which has increased to Rs 29.78 lakh crore in 2024-25. The share of Uttar Pradesh in the total economy of the country has also increased from 8 percent in 2016 to more than 9 percent in 2024-25. The government estimates that the state’s GSDP can reach more than Rs 36 lakh crore in 2025-26. Officials said that about 93 percent of the set GSDP target has already been achieved.

Agriculture, energy and industry become pillars of development
The Chief Minister said that agriculture, energy and industry remain the main bases of economic growth of the state. Uttar Pradesh contributes about 21 percent to the total food grain production of the country and the agricultural growth rate remains more than 13 percent. The income of farmers has increased due to better seeds, modern technology and cultivation of high value crops. Instructions were also given to accelerate the Seed Park and UP Agri projects.
Strictness in review system, there will be no leniency on delay
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed that all departmental works related to the one trillion dollar economy should be compulsorily reviewed monthly by ministers, fortnightly review by the Chief Secretary and weekly review at the level of Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Head of Department. He clarified that unnecessary delay in work will not be tolerated and timely disposal of files should be ensured.
Energy and health sectors get new strength
It was told in the meeting that the performance of power corporations has improved due to reduction in electricity theft and technical losses. Under PM Kusum-C scheme, energy production has increased through solar parks and big solar projects. In the health sector, there has been an increase in the income of hospitals through PM Jan Arogya Yojana, which is leading to the expansion of private and government health infrastructure.
Focus on tourism, road safety and social schemes
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, tourism in the state has got a new identity and till June this year, about 125 crore tourists have reached Uttar Pradesh. Instructions were given to expand facilities at major pilgrimage sites including Garhmukteshwar, make home-stay policy effective and develop tourist destination plan. Also, stating that road safety is the top priority, the Transport Department was asked to take concrete steps to reduce accidents.
Education and women empowerment schemes also in progress
The Chief Minister directed to develop Anganwadi centers as pre-primary education centres, accelerate the establishment of digital libraries and better implementation of the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme. He said that strengthening human resources through education, health and social schemes is an important basis for achieving economic goals.
At the end of the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clarified that the goal of One Trillion Dollar Economy is not limited to mere figures, but its objective is to bring real and permanent improvement in the standard of living of every citizen of the state.
