BJP has made Nitin Nabin the national working president. This appointment is part of the strategy to prepare young leadership for ‘Developed India 2047’. 45 year old Nabin has been MLA from Bihar 5 times.
New Delhi: BJP on Sunday appointed Nitin Nabin as the national working president. This signals a major generational change in the party’s leadership, raising questions over the election of young leaders to the party’s top post. According to BJP sources, his election is directly linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Developed India 2047’. The BJP leadership wants to ensure that by 2047, when India becomes a developed country, the party has a mature and experienced leadership. For this purpose, the party has started preparing young leaders long ago.
The source further said, “The party is also promoting several young leaders at the state level. In Chhattisgarh, Vijay Sharma has been made the deputy chief minister, while in Gujarat, Harsh Sanghvi has been promoted to the post of deputy chief minister.” The move is being seen as a strategic decision to strengthen the party’s organizational structure and recognize the talent from different states. Nabeen, 45, a minister from Bihar and a five-time MLA, brings to the role rich experience of governance and party organization.
Nabin will be 67 years old by 2047
Nabin, now 45, will be around 67 years of age by 2047, giving the party an experienced leader to guide a crucial phase of the country’s journey. Nabeen’s elevation also brings representation from Bihar to the party’s top leadership, showing the BJP’s commitment to regional diversity. “Nitin Nabin’s name was being discussed before the Bihar elections; however, the election results helped him get the post,” a source told ANI.
He has a proven track record of electoral success and has held several key positions, including BJP state in-charge for Chhattisgarh. The process of electing Nitin Nabin as the national president of BJP will start after Uttarayan. The entire election process takes approximately 22 days. After the process is completed, the National Council will meet, possibly in New Delhi, to formally approve his appointment as national president.
5 time MLA Nabin’s father was also a veteran leader
On Nabin taking over as the National Working President of BJP, Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal said, “…as soon as he takes over the post of National Working President, the youth of the country will fulfill the dream of the country by standing shoulder to shoulder with the BJP.” Nabeen, Bihar’s road construction minister and 5-time MLA, is the son of veteran BJP leader Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha. As a young face of BJP, Nitin Nabin brings with him the experience of serving as a minister in the Bihar government several times. He has served as the Minister of Road Construction Department, Urban Development and Housing Department and Law Department in the Government of Bihar.
In 2008, while in BJP, he worked as a member of the National Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and co-in-charge of the youth wing. From 2010 to 2013, he worked as the National General Secretary of the Yuva Morcha. From 2016–19, he worked as the state president of Yuva Morcha in Bihar and in 2019 was BJP’s election in-charge in Sikkim. In June 2019, he was made in-charge of the Sikkim state BJP organisation.
