Ram Mandir donation scam: Investigation into allegations of embezzlement of donations to Ram Mandir has intensified. Ayodhya Police has interrogated Champat Rai, former general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): The investigation into the case of alleged embezzlement of donations to Ram temple has intensified. According to sources, the police on Monday recorded the statement of Champat Rai, former general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Sources also said that right now Champat Rai has been interrogated, but if necessary in the investigation, other senior officials of the trust will also be interrogated.
What revelations did Champat Rai make?
According to media reports, Champat Rai claimed during police interrogation that he had no knowledge of the theft of offerings. There is no information about who is involved in this. Let us tell you that the police has not yet revealed what else Champat Rai told. Now it is being told that now Anil Mishra and other officials of the trust will be interrogated. The police have also completed its paper preparations.
Police reached the house of accused Avinash Shukla
Earlier on Sunday, a police team had reached the house of one of the accused, Avinash Shukla, in Ayodhya, further expediting the investigation into the case. Speaking to the media on the incident, Abhishek Shukla, brother of the accused, said that if any member of the family is found involved in embezzlement of temple money, the family will not support him.
Where did the devotees’ gold, silver bricks and jewelery go?
- Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has issued an official statement on this entire matter. The trust said, “We are shocked, hurt and deeply saddened by the incidents that have unfolded over the last few days regarding the Shri Ram temple (Ayodhya). We are committed to ensuring a fair investigation and reassuring the devotees. The trust also announced that it has received the resignations of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. The trust will consider the matter in its next meeting.”
- Assuring the devotees, the Trust said that all the valuables personally given by the devotees as offerings to Lord Ram, including silver bricks and jewellery, are safe and fully accounted for.
“The Trust assures the devotees who have personally handed over items like silver bricks and jewelery to the Trust officials to offer to Lord Ram, that all these items are safe and fully accounted for,” the Trust said.
The Trust further expressed confidence that the truth will prevail. The statement said, “The darkness will finally disappear and the light of truth will shine. The unbroken flow of glory of Lord Shri Ram will always continue.
