Director alleges Bollywood politics as ‘Udaipur Files’ gears up for re-release on August 22

New Delhi: The controversial film Udaipur Files is set to re-release on August 22, following what the makers claim was a deliberate sidelining by the film industry. Director Bharat Shrinate stated that the film was pushed to remote theatres and lost screens to big-budget releases like Coolie and War 2. Originally released on August 8 after a hard-fought legal battle, the film is based on the brutal daylight killing of tailor Kanhaiyalal and aims to reach a wider audience this time.

The director of the film Bharat Shrinate said, ” Our film suffered because of the politics of Bollywood. We were given theatres in far-off places, and whatever they gave us was taken away after the big films like Coolie and War 2 were released. No national multiplex gave us a showcase. Hence, we are now re-releasing it. ”
So when asked if this time around, national multiplexes have given them shows. Shrinate reacted, ” Yes, and we rise again on August 22, and with a proper plan. In fact, we have asked Arshad Madni to go and watch our film. He had major objections to our film, so he should go and watch the truth Udaipur Files had shown to the world. ”

It may be noted here that the Udaipur files were released on August 8 after fighting a fierce legal battle. The film is based on the killing of Tailor Kanhaiyalal, who was brutally killed in broad daylight.
