According to the latest report of IMD, the effect of strong sunlight, heat wave and hot winds will remain throughout the day in Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh. In many cities the temperature is likely to reach 45°C to 47°C, which means it is going to be very difficult to go out in the afternoon.
Which city will be the hottest today?
If we talk about the hottest cities, then on May 27, cities like Garhwa, Bhopal, Banda and Auraiya will be on top, where the temperature can reach around 47°C. Apart from this, many cities of UP like Kanpur, Lucknow, Prayagraj and Agra will also remain above 45°C. It is clear that the entire North India is trapped in the heatwave belt, where the sun is directly raining fire on the head.
Delhi weather: Heat wave effect with hot winds
The weather will be slightly clear in Delhi but this clear weather will not provide relief. The temperature will be around 45°C and there will be strong sunshine and hot winds throughout the day. The effect of heat wave will be felt more in the afternoon and there are less chances of getting relief from the heat even till evening. This day will be very challenging for those going out.
Uttar Pradesh: Extreme heat everywhere
The situation is even more serious in Uttar Pradesh. In big cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Varanasi, the temperature will remain between 45°C to 46°C and heatwave will continue to disturb. Summer will also be at its peak in Agra, Meerut and Aligarh. In areas like Banda and Auraiya, the mercury can reach a record of 47°C. That means the entire UP is currently in the grip of extreme heat.
Bihar: Slight change expected amid summer
The heat will remain intense in Bihar too but there is a slight possibility of some relief. The temperature in Patna will be around 37°C and partial clouds can also be seen. There will be more heat in Arrah and Sasaram but there is a possibility of light rain or thunderstorm at some places. That means the weather in Bihar will be a bit mixed, at some places there will be relief, at some places it will be hot.
Jharkhand: Heat wave at some places and danger of storm at other places
The weather pattern in Jharkhand will be a bit unstable. The temperature in Ranchi will be around 37°C and there is a possibility of thunderstorm there. There is also a danger of strong winds and lightning in Simdega and surrounding areas. In Garhwa, the heat can reach a maximum of 47°C, which means two types of weather will be seen in the same state, on one side heat wave and on the other side fear of storm.
Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal hottest, some relief in Indore-Ujjain
In Madhya Pradesh, the maximum heat will be seen in Bhopal where the temperature can go up to 47°C and the effect of heat wave will be intense. The weather will be slightly better in Indore and Ujjain, where the sky will be clear and the temperature will be around 42°C-43°C. But overall the entire state is not in a position to respite from the heat.

Heat wave alert and caution: Going out can be dangerous
The effect of heat wave in North India and Central India is so much that IMD is issuing yellow and orange alert like situation in many places. It is quite risky to go out between 12 noon to 4 pm because the sun is at its strongest during this time. People are advised to drink more water, wear light clothes and avoid direct sunlight. The risk of heat stroke due to hot winds and heat waves has also increased.
How will the weather be in the coming days? When will we get relief?
There is little hope of relief in North India for the next few days. The temperature may remain around 45°C and may even go up to 47°C at some places. Although in some states there may be some relief from light rain or thunderstorm, but the effect of heat wave does not seem to be completely over yet.
