Kharmas 2025: Kharmas is considered inauspicious in Hindu religious scriptures. The duration of Kharmas is one month. Kharmas is also called Malmas. When Lord Surya enters the zodiac sign of Jupiter Jupiter, Kharmas occurs. The brightness of Lord Sun decreases as soon as it enters Sagittarius. During Kharmas, auspicious and auspicious works like marriage, Upanayana Sanskar, house warming etc. are banned.
According to Hindu beliefs, full results of auspicious and auspicious works are not achieved during the period of Kharmas. This year Kharmas is starting from tomorrow, hence no auspicious or auspicious work will be done for 30 days from tomorrow. Kharmas will end after Lord Sun enters Capricorn on 14th of next month. After this, auspicious and auspicious works will start again.

After the beginning of Kharmas, no auspicious or auspicious work can be done.
Why do not auspicious works happen in Kharmas?
It is said in the scriptures that during Kharmas the brightness of the Sun God decreases. For this reason, auspicious rituals like marriage, tonsure, housewarming, naming ceremony do not take place during this period. This is a time for introspection and restraint. Although this time is not considered good for auspicious works, this time is considered best for worship and meditation.
Worshiping Lord Vishnu, Sun God and Shri Krishna in this month gives special results. Chanting Ram’s name, reciting Geeta and reciting Vishnu Sahasranama should also be done during the period of Kharmas.
