SIHM Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh’s first State Institute of Hotel Management will be ready in Gorakhpur in two months. This institute, which is being constructed at a cost of 48.39 crores, will give the youth a diploma and degree course in the hotel, tourism and hospitality sector.
State Institute of Hotel Management Gorakhpur: Gorakhpur of Purvanchal will no longer be limited to religious and cultural identity. Tourism and hospitality sector is developing rapidly in the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and in this episode the state’s first state institute of Hotel Management – SIHM is now in its final stages. This institute, which is being built at a cost of Rs 48.39 crore, will open the doors of new opportunities for students and youth in just two months.
Why is Hotel Management Institute in Gorakhpur?
Tourism and hospitality sector of Gorakhpur has increased rapidly over the years. Big hotel brands are making their move here. In such a situation, this industry needs efficient human resources. To meet this demand, this Hotel Management Institute in Gorakhpur is being prepared in Gorakhpur.

What will be the structure of Sihm Gorakhpur?
Construction work on the project started from September 2023 and now 95 percent of the works have been completed.
- In the first phase, administrative blocks, classrooms, common halls, modern kitchens, underground parking, electrification and fire safety systems are being prepared.
- According to the officials of the tourism department, the construction of the entire building will be completed by the end of September.
- After the release, Hotel and Tourism Management Courses will be started.
What will be the benefit to the youth?
This institute will become a new option of employment education for the youth. Diploma and degree in Hospitality Management courses according to global demand will give the youth of the state a chance to make a career at the local level. This will reduce the compulsion to go out and will also increase employment opportunities at the local level.
In the second phase (Hostel Facilites for Students)
The second phase of the project has also started. According to this:
- Five -storey Boys Hostel of 128 rooms
- A five -storey girls hostel of 84 rooms will be built. This phase will cost Rs 46.81 crore and work is targeted to be completed by May 2027.
In Gorakhpur, this State Institute of Hotel Management Up will not only change the direction of the hotel and tourism industry but will also give a new height to the Hospitality Industry Development in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. After the course starts from the next academic session, the youth will get both employment and training opportunities. With this, Gorakhpur will emerge more firmly on the education and tourism map of the state.
