The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen the digital economy of the state, connect the youth with modern technical skills and create new employment opportunities.

During this time, Tata Group proposed to establish AI City in Lucknow and Center of Excellence in Gorakhpur. Along with this, it was also agreed to increase the workforce in Lucknow, Noida and Varanasi units of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

Proposal for AI City in Lucknow and Center of Excellence in Gorakhpur

During the meeting, the Chairman of Tata Group presented the action plan to develop ‘AI City’ in the capital Lucknow. He said that this project will play an important role in making Uttar Pradesh a global hub in the field of Artificial Intelligence. An ecosystem of startups, research and thousands of new jobs will be created through AI City.

In this sequence, a proposal was also made to establish a Center of Excellence in Gorakhpur. For this, Tata Group has signed an MoU with IIT Kanpur, under which an investment of Rs 48 crore will be made. In this project, the youth of Eastern Uttar Pradesh will be given training in AI, Cyber ​​Security, Data Science, 3D Printing, Drone and Space Technology.

Employment expansion in TCS, workforce will increase by 30,000

Tata Group announced to increase the workforce at TCS’ Lucknow and Noida units from 16,000 to 30,000. This will strengthen the digital talent pool of the state and create large scale employment opportunities for the youth in the IT sector.

Investment will increase in electronics manufacturing and defense corridor

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a major center of electronics manufacturing. During the meeting, Tata Group expressed its desire to increase investment in manufacturing of mobile devices and other electronic components. In this sequence, information about MOU with Intel was also shared.

Along with this, Tata Group proposed to increase investment in Defense Corridor. Focus is being laid on the production of drones, missiles and defense vehicles in the defense industrial nodes of the state including Babina. Information about expansion of the project on 25,000 acres of land under BIDA in Jhansi was also given.

Museum of Temple Architecture in Ayodhya, to be completed by January 2027

With the collaboration of Tata Group, a target has been set to complete the construction work of Museum of Temple Architecture in Ayodhya by January 2027. State-of-the-art technology based displays are being prepared in this museum, which will attract foreign tourists. Along with this, renovation of eight ponds including Mansi Ganga Kund, Shyam Kund, Radha Kund in Mathura-Vrindavan area and cleaning of major Ganga ghats of the state will also be done by the Tata Group.

Big expansion of Tata Group’s hotel chain in Uttar Pradesh

In view of the increasing demand in tourism and hospitality sector, Tata Group informed about the expansion of hotel network in the state. Currently 30 hotels of Taj, Vivanta and Selections brands are under construction. Along with this, there was also discussion on building 30 new hotels.

With this expansion, the number of luxury hotel rooms in the state will increase from 2,000 to 5,000. These hotels will be built in major tourist centers like Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Vrindavan, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bijnor and Gorakhpur.

Focus on EV, energy and solar power projects

At the meeting, Tata Motors presented a roadmap for expanding the manufacturing of electric vehicles and electric buses. This will promote green energy in the state and create new employment opportunities. Tata Power is setting up a new 1900 MW thermal unit at the Bara plant in Prayagraj, which will have three units of 360 MW each. Apart from this, 50-50 MW solar projects are also being developed in Prayagraj and Banda. Clean energy and carbon emission reduction are targeted through solar rooftop projects.
