Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani on Sunday offered prayers at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh. He participated in the morning good morning service and had darshan of Lord Venkateswara. After this, following the age-old tradition of the temple, he also donated his hair.
Got tonsured as a symbol of reverence
The tradition of hair donation (mundan) in Tirumala temple is considered a symbol of devotion, dedication and renunciation of ego. Every day thousands of devotees donate their hair here to fulfill their wishes or as a form of faith. Anant Ambani’s long hair had become a part of his identity, hence his tonsure became a topic of discussion.
Announcement to provide 25 electric buses to the temple
After the darshan, Anant Ambani made a big announcement saying that Reliance Industries will donate 25 electric buses to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) at a cost of about Rs 27.5 crore. Apart from this, the company will also bear the expenses of salary and other facilities of 50 drivers for operating these buses. Besides, cooperation was also said in developing EV charging infrastructure in Tirumala.
Vedic scholars gave blessings
After visiting the temple, Vedic scholars gave Vedic blessings to Anant Ambani at Ranganayakula Mandapam. The temple administration presented him Shriwari Tirtha Prasad and honored him by draping him with a traditional silk shawl.
Have done many religious trips before also
Anant Ambani has been known for visiting religious places for a long time. He has publicly expressed his faith in Lord Shri Krishna and Shrinathji many times. Last year, before his marriage, he had also undertaken a padyatra to Dwarka. Apart from this, he has also been playing an active role in social and religious activities through Vantara Project related to animal protection.
